About Wight Joinery Services
Wight Joinery Services started in July 2024, but the joinery shop itself has been in existence for several years. Work carried out previously was mainly for one client who manufactured Seaward leisure boats to the highest standard and therefore required a team of master craftsmen for all of the joinery works. Custom made marine joinery requires a high degree of technical skill and adherence to designs that often vary greatly. Clients had the final say in exactly how they wanted their luxury motor yachts fitted out, choosing the type of wood and degree of finish, whether hi-gloss varnish or matt effect.
The vast experience of our joinery team is predominantly in domestic joinery and the new company was set up in order to utilise their collective skills in a much wider field to encompass domestic joinery and other work. We are ideally placed to work across the Island and cater for all manner of joinery work for your home, whether it is a new home or not or even a listed building. We can carry out repairs or replacements and work to your designs for all types of new joinery work. We provide estimates for your work and schedule it to your convenience.
Wight Joinery Services operates from a large and fully equipped joinery shop in Cowes. We take great delight in seeing the pleasure you get from the results of our high-quality work.

Mike
Job Role
Mike completed a college course in joinery and subsequently spent many years working for a large joinery workshop manufacturing all manner of doors and windows etc before moving on to lead a team of joinery/boat builders making and fitting new interiors for luxury-fitted custom-made motor yachts.
Mike’s main passion is for keeping the traditional joinery practices alive and therefore he loves working on the various listed period properties that come our way.
James
Job Role
After completing an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery, James transitioned into yacht interior fit out and eventually into traditional wooden boat building.
Having taken up Lutherie during the covid lockdown James has also built many guitars for clients across the country.
